University of Huddersfield presents
From Data to Decisions.
Trustworthy AI for every sector.
Thursday 10 December 2026 ·
09:30 – 16:30
Oastler Building, University of Huddersfield
Your data in. Cleaned, modelled and explained. Clear options out, to support the decisions you make.
Organisations are adopting AI fast. Few can explain the decisions it makes.
Organisations are moving quickly to adopt AI, and the enthusiasm is real. But many are unsure how far they can rely on it, have doubts about its transparency, and don't know how to integrate it into the way they make decisions. As a result, critical decisions are still made slowly, on gut feel, or with tools nobody can fully explain.
This showcase from the University of Huddersfield shows what changes when data-driven decision support platforms, machine learning and explainable AI are built around real operational problems.
Over one day, you will see working systems our researchers have developed with partners in housing and energy. These platforms help organisations prioritise investment, predict risk, plan retrofit, and justify decisions to boards, regulators and residents. Every demo is grounded in real data and real constraints, not hypothetical use cases. The methods behind them carry over to any sector where decisions are complex, high-stakes, and need to be defended: manufacturing, health and social care, logistics, finance, the public sector and beyond.

Why attend.
Working systems, real data and real constraints. Not hypothetical use cases.
Faster decisions.
Turn scattered data into ranked, evidence-based options that decision makers can act on.
Trustworthy AI adoption.
See how explainability, transparency and human oversight make AI outputs defensible and easier to approve.
A route to collaboration.
Learn how to work with the university through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), funded projects, student placements and research partnerships, often with substantial public co-funding.
